T HANK YOU
THE Community Council would like to thank everybody for the generous support given at the recent church gate collection in aid of the Fedamore Defibrillator Programme. This is an important service in the community and your continued support is greatly appreciated.

CONFIRMATION
22 children received the Sacrament of Confirmation from Bishop Donal Murray on Saturday last, May 16, in Fedamore Church packed to capacity. They were: Louise Archibald, Niamh Hartigan, Jessica Morrissey, Mark O’Regan, Alan Leonard, Thomas Roche, Tiffany Fanning, Christina Reale, Jo Ann Ryan, Michael Ryan, Martin Morrissey, Eoin Enright, Jamie Dumas, Amy Ryan O’Brien, Sinead Butler, Hazel Connolly, Evan Keogh, Shauna Byrne, Emily O’Grady, Ian O’Boyle, Jack Commons, Jamie Cusack.
A special word of thanks to all those who helped in any way to make the day go so well.

SENIOR CITIZEN COMMITTEE
The committee will hold a meeting on May 26 at 8pm. The summer outing will be a trip to Galway and Salthill. Anyone intending to go please give your name to a committee member or leave your name in the sacristy.

SPORTS
FEDAMORE Sports, confined to parish and schools will be held in the GAA field on Sunday next may 17, starting 1.30pm.

LOTTO
Castle Rovers weekly Lotto Draw was held in The Ranch Bar. Numbers drawn were 4, 12, 14 & 20, with three numbers: Kathleen Clifford and the Hartigans, each received €75. Thank you for your continued support.

SOCCER
Castle Rovers had an impressive win 3-0 against Abbey Rovers recently. Scorers for Castle were Nicky Ryan who stormed up from his full back position to head home a Michael Ryan corner. Mike O’Dwyer got the second when his 30 yard volley rocketed in to the net, and the third came from top scorer Michael Ryan. Castle’s next outing is to Kilfinane with a 6.30pm kick off and have just two more league games remaining.

It’s Confirmation Day on Saturday, May 16 in Fedamore Church at 11am. All welcome. Refreshments in the Community Centre afterwards. Lets hope it will be a happy and holy day for the 22 children confirmed.

SENIOR FOLKS GET-TOGETHER
The Get-Together for May will be held on May 20 and not on 13 as previous agreed.

Interior Design classes will commence on Wednesday, May 6 from 7.30-9.30pm for six weeks.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION
Fifteen children received their First Holy Communion on Sunday, April 26: Rachel McMahon, Emma Fitzpatrick, Jane Hannan, John Enright, Conor Godfrey, Jack Butler, Hugh O’Donnell, Conor Muir, Jordan Nash, Katie Keehan, Aaron Rainsford, Christina Parker Ryan, Jane Enright, Allie Browne, Eadaoin Power Gallagher. Thanks to the schools and especially our class teacher, Mary Richardson and Emma Spillane, parents, families and friends and Fr. Mike.

CONGRATULATIONS
Hearty congratulations to Paul O’Connell from nearby Dromanna, on being selected as captain of the Lion’s Rugby team. All in Fedamore are delighted with the good news, and the inclusion of other Limerick based players. Lots of local rugby supporters are travelling to Croke Park supporting Paul and Munster in the Heineken Cup semi-final. Indeed a few loyal supporters are planning the trip to South Africa with the Lions tour.

Last week’s draw was held in The Ranch Bar. Numbers drawn were 5, 11, 20 and 23, with three numbers Sharon and Jonathan Ryan c/o Ranch who received €150.

SOCCER
Castle Rovers bowed out of the division 2A Cup on Sunday, losing out 4-3 in a thriller. Castle took an early lead through a scorcher from Brian O’Riordan but Kennedy Park went on to lead 2-1 at half time. Castle equalised when a Ciarán Fitzgerald volley was deflected to the net. However, two further goals against Castle looked to have victory sealed for the opponents but a Derek Kiely goal from 40 yards out resulted in a 4-3 scoreline. We now have four league games remaining. Our next game v Abbey Rovers at 6.30 Tuesday, May 5.

There was a very large attendance at all the Easter ceremonies including the Dawn Mass in the church grounds at 6am.

SOCCER
Castle Rovers gained an overdue victory on Saturday beating Hyde Rangers 2-1. This follows up their scoreless draw away to Hospital, picking up valuable league points and most importantly moving up the division 2A league table. Our scorers were Micháel Ryan with a glancing leader from a Ross McNamara corner kick and the second from Neil McLaughlin to seal victory. There are seven games remaining and a divisional Cup game versus Kennedy Park.
