SYMPATHY
THE death occurred recently of Edward Hannan, Birmingham, England, uncle of Mike McNamara, Carnane. Funeral took place in Birmingham.
SOCCER
Our new season in Division 2A began on Sunday last against Pallasgreen who came out on top. Castle included new signings ex Limerick League of Ireland goalie Eddie Hickey and Neil McLaughlin up front, who slotted home a goal after 5 minutes; however Pallasgreen got 2 before half time. On resumption Pallasgreen scored their third. Castle missed a penalty kick, and we conceded a fourth goal on the stroke of fulltime. This defeat ended our three year unbeaten home league effort, with four of our regular players not available on the day, we are disappointed but can only be positive for future games, with new joint managers Pat Fitzgerald and Damien Malone.

LOTTO
Our weekly lotto draw was held in Dorans Bar. After a lucky dip the following emerged: Geraldine Fitzgerald, Ballyea, John and Rita; Ester McKenna; Gilian Grimes and Eddie Scales.
