Fedamonre News 17th October 2008

ICA MEETING
OPEN nights 2008 presented by Fedamore I.C.A. in the Community Centre on Tuesdays at 8.30pm each night.
October 21: A butcher will visit to display and explain different joints of meat followed by a talk on nutrition by Carmel Gleeson.
October 28: An Irish night of song, dance, music and storytelling with Ballyhoura, Churchtown and local Ramblers.
November 4: Talk on Osteoporosis by Dr. Nuala Barry from Mid West Regional Hospital, followed by talk on Osteoarthritis by Nurse Siobhan Irwin from Croom Orthopaedic hospital.
November 11: Citizens Information Bureau talk: questions and answers and private consultations. Admission, tea and raffle each night: €5.

FAI JUNIOR CUP SOCCER
Castle advanced to the next round of the FAI Junior Cup with a hard earned 3-1 victory away to Trinity Rangers at Athlacca on Sunday.
The home side went ahead just before half time. Castle tried hard for the equalizer and just before the final whistle, Mike Hofler passed to Neil McLoughlin who lobbed the ball over the keepers head to send the game into extra time. Castle began to dominate and shortly went 2-1 ahead scored by Neil McLoughlin again and Michael Ryan gave us our third. Final score 3-1. We play Newport in the next round. Despite Castle missing several players through injury.

FEDAMORE NEWS
The deadline for this year’s magazine is Friday, October 31. All material can be left in the Sacristy, Post Office or can be given to any committee member. Please include contact number with your article and especially photographs. You can email material to Noreen @davisprinters.i.e.

SHOE BOX APPEAL
Anybody with shoe boxes bring them to the Sacristy after Mass. Filling of boxes will take place on Saturday, November 8 at 10am. All are welcome to assist.
MUSIC
Saturday, October 18 in Doran’s bar, 9 till late by Eddie Keogh. Come and enjoy the craic.

LOTTO
Castle Rovers weekly lotto draw was held in the Ranch Bar with three numbers: John Aherne, the Hartigan’s, Geraldine Walsh, Joe Boohan, Bill and Jim Doran, and Jim Hofler, Sr, each receive €25.

NATIONAL SCHOOL RETIREMENT
An opportunity to meet Mr. Kennedy to thank him for his years of service will be held on October 23 at 7pm. Those wishing to assist (past pupils) etc., are invited to meet on October 16 at 7pm in Fedamore National school.
